Norm Ohren
Ohren has established himself as an eminent provider of learning design and delivery services. He received his MBA from Pepperdine University. Subsequently he delivered mission critical training solutions to such organizations as United Airlines, IBM, United Technologies, Exxon, U.S. Navy, GE, and Xerox.
His Train-the-Trainer Workshop earned him the Workshop-of-the-Year Award from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). Early in his career he designed proprietary spreadsheet learning systems for United Technologies and Digital Equipment Corporation. More recently he was project manager and principal instructional designer of the award-winning Lexus Labs, a multimedia learning system used throughout Lexus’ U.S. dealership network. Ohren’s proprietary workshops include Running Smart Meetings and Effective Negotiations.
When Royal Bank of Canada was seeking to meet a strategic initiative of improving the coaching skills of their managers worldwide, Ohren was retained as the project’s instructional designer. The resulting training program, Royal Coaching, received ASTD’s Excellence in Practice Award for its achievements in Workplace Learning and Development.
When United Airlines made the massive shift to E-tickets, Ohren managed the design and development team that delivered online learning to over 7,000 employees worldwide. GE awarded him its prestigious America’s Award for his instructional design wins in their Money Division.
